Sony DCR-TRV103 Digital8 camcorder low light comparison

By far the brightest image in low light — maybe even *too* bright, because the grainy effect becomes noticeable in the darkest areas. But if you need a digital camcorder to record in very dim lighting, you can’t beat this one. The built-in microphone has good stereo separation, but the tape motor noise is a bit obtrusive.

    @DrCassette Digital8 camcorders are usually very expensive on eBay. I got lucky in not paying too much for this one.

    I love this …
    I love this camcorder! I looked for this one on Ebay, but I never saw one… seems like Sony didn’t offered this model in Europe.
    The model DCR-TRV110 appears sometimes, it is very similar to the 103, but it is a later model I think. It’s usually going for around 250€, and that’s just too much for me at the moment :(
